Matthiessen and his bandmates hope to bring a fun and inviting energy to the stage, as they blur the lines between jazz, funk and r+b.
JT’s Electrik Blackout is a high-energy contemporary fusion ensemble led by acclaimed Akron-based saxophonist Justin Tibbs, blending jazz, rock, R&B, and fusion into an electrifying and immersive sound. Since forming in 2017, the group has earned regional acclaim through dynamic performances, innovative sound exploration, and releases including their EarthQuaker Devices Live Session EP (2021) and self-titled album (2022). Known for pushing creative boundaries, JT’s Electrik Blackout continues to captivate audiences across Northeast Ohio and beyond.
Hubb’s Groove is a mix of Soul, Jazz, R&B and a splash of Gospel. It’s a smooth but yet high energy band that believes what played from the heart, reaches the heart.
“Creating this album was like going on a soul quest, as I tried to figure out how to express the things I was thinking and experiencing during this past year,” confides pianist, composer and humanitarian Keiko Matsui (pronounced Kay-Koe, meaning ‘happy, celebratory child’ in Japanese). “This music energizes me and I am overwhelmed with emotion when I listen to it. I hope people will allow themselves to go inside the music and become a part of my journey,” says the stunning, profound pianist and world citizen who is celebrating a triumphant 25 years of recording in the US. In the words of Duke Ellington, Keiko Matsuiis ‘beyond category.’ The courageous, spiritually-driven and consummate artist who enjoyed the distinction of being an invited guest and performer at the second International Jazz Day, sponsored by UNESCO and held in Istanbul in April 2013, transcends boundary. Her unique melting pot of musical influences have garnered her a devout international following. The eloquent and soft-spoken but yet deliberate musician tours relentlessly and seeks to make a genuine connection with her audience. “Everybody has so many things going on in their lives but my concerts are special for me. The music creates a oneness. The exchange I share with my audience is the root of my energy. It’s like my mission.” Matsui has worked alongside the best including Miles Davis, Stevie Wonder, Hugh Masakela and Bob James. A true humanitarian, Keiko has lent her voice to raise awareness for such causes as The Daniel Pearl Foundation, The United Nations World Food Programme, Be The Match Marrow Registry and The National Donor Program and Marrow Foundation. She has also lent her efforts to the continued revitalization and healing of Japan in the wake of the recent Tsunami and Fukushima disasters. “I still have these images of kindergarten teachers holding their kids in order to protect them. I also think about all of the older people who did not make it and the children who lost parents,” reflects Keiko, the first Japanese musician to top the Billboard Contemporary Jazz Charts. “But when I think about the people who did survive, I think that they may be the strongest souls there are. Out of this pain, I have found the greatest strength from these individuals.” Keiko Matsui’s new recording Soul Quest, is a riveting new collection of songs that unfold like an epic journey. With an all-star cast that includes such heavyweights as producer and drummer Narada Michael Walden, guitarist Chuck Loeb, saxophonist Kirk Whalum and bassist Marcus Miller, among others, Keiko explores themes of love, loss, spirituality and environmental consciousness.
“I become very serious when I am recording a new album. I carry a notebook around with me and take notes as ideas come to me,” confesses Keiko. “These notes focus my vision. Each recording is like my baby, so I feel such obligation. When I am gone these songs will still be here.” Reflecting Keiko’s universal approach to her life and music, Soul Quest was recorded and conceptualized on several corners of the globe– New York, Japan, San Francisco, Los Angeles and Eastern Europe.
Soul Quest opens with the transcendental and majestic “Dream Seeker,” a melodic prayer that Keiko holds for all mankind. “I want everyone to have a dream and to seek it.” She co-wrote the song with guitarist and producer Chuck Loeb and it features the flamenco-like and ethereal guitar of Loeb along with the soaring soprano saxophone of Andy Snitzer. Soul Quest’s first single “Black Lion,” was inspired during a rigorous Eastern European tour in which Keiko and her band played an exhausting five countries in five weeks. They were even detained at one point due to problems with travel visas. However, the courageous and optimistic pianist drew inspiration from happier times during her tour.
Jonathan Butler is a singer-songwriter and guitarist who leads a life few can imagine. Born in South Africa under the shadow of apartheid and raised in poverty, Butler was the first non-white artist to be played on South African radio and appear on national television. Though his musical abilities would take him away from the world he grew up in, Jonathan would neither forget the plight of his fellow South Africans, nor the man that led them to freedom. It is for this reason Nelson Mandela credits Butler’s music as having inspired him during his imprisonment. In more ways than one, Jonathan Butler is representative of South Africa.
Jonathan’s story begins at a very young age when his father presented him with a homemade one-string guitar. Little did his father realize that he was giving way to a musical phenomenon. From then on, Jonathan’s musical gifts grew by leaps and bounds. In his early teens Butler won a local talent contest, affording him the opportunity to perform with a touring musical company throughout South Africa. On occasion he would perform at lavish concert halls for whites only, where he would not be allowed to use the bathroom, and the very next night he would perform in a dilapidated local township. Ultimately, his ticket to a new life was music.
At thirteen, Jonathan’s talents caught the eyes and ears of the British record producer Clive Caulder. He was signed to Caulder’s Jive Records and the rest is history. Jonathan’s first single broke down racial barriers becoming the first song by a black artist played by white radio stations in South Africa and won the South African equivalent to a Grammy®.
His commitment to his craft came to fruition with his self-titled debut album, which received a Grammy® nomination for the pop hit “Lies.” An instrumental “Going Home” earned him another Grammy® nomination and the mid-tempo ballad “Sarah, Sarah” confirmed Butler’s place in popular music.
However, to Jonathan Butler, success is measured on a higher plane.
A religious and spiritual man, Butler dedicates his life to being a devoted father and grandfather, and a caring citizen to his homeland, South Africa.
And in spite of all the hardships, Jonathan Butler has an air of playfulness and quiet resilience that is easily visible in his passionate performances.

And while navigating the ebbs & flows, and twists & turns, they have remained excited to do what they’ve done since day one: sharing feel-good music.

Born in Providence, Rhode Island, Jeffrey Osborne was the youngest of 12 children and was surrounded by music as he was growing up. He had five brothers and six sisters, some of whom went on to have music careers. His father, Clarence “Legs” Osborne, was a popular trumpeter who sat in with the likes of Lionel Hampton and Duke Ellington and turned down many top band offers during his career to be with his family, he passed away when Jeffrey was only 13. At the age of 15, Jeffrey sat in with the O’Jays when the drummer was unable to perform to their standards, and went on to play with them for two weeks. That was all the inspiration Osborne needed to pursue a musical career.
It was at another Providence nightclub that fate brought him together with the band Love Men Ltd..It was only after receiving his mother’s encouragement that Jeffrey left for Los Angeles to play with Love Men Ltd..who later changed their name to L.T.D.Osborne was originally brought on as the drummer and eventually became the lead vocalist. After more than ten years with the band, he decided to pursue a solo career, which produced such Top 40 hits as ” Really Don’t Need No Light”, Don’t You Get So Mad”, “Stay With Me Tonight”, “You Should Be Mine (The Woo Woo Song)” and a duet with Dionne Warwick, “Love Power.”
Osborne’s solo career has brought him four grammy nominations, five gold and platinum albums, including his debut self entitled album ” Jeffrey Osborne”, “Stay with Me Tonight” and “Only Human”.He scored an international hit with “On the Wings of Love” in 1982. After his six albums released on A&M during the ’80s, he moved to Arista for Only Human (1990), then switched to a series of independent labels. His releases during the 2000s included ” That’s for Sure” (2000) and “Music Is Life” (2003), as well as cover albums ” From the Soul “(2005) and “A Time for Love” (2013). His latest project entitled “Worth It All” was released in 2018 on Artistry Music. This project was written and produced by Jeffrey Osborne, with the exception of one song entitled ” Work It” which was co-written with his son Jeffrey Osborne Jr. who also performed on the track with him. This project, inspired by the late great George Duke has taken Osborne back to his deep R&B roots.
Currently Jeffrey Osborne is actively performing and touring around the world. In 2012 Osborne founded The Jeffrey Osborne Foundation and the Jeffrey Osborne Celebrity Classic. The primary mission is to benefit non-profit organizations who support a continued push for music and arts to children and their families, as well as those who provide a safe haven for families in need. In the past six years through his Celebrity Golf Tournament the Jeffrey Osborne Foundation has donated over $750,000 to various charities in Rhode Island.
Clave Sonic is a Latin-Jazz-Fusion music group from Columbus, Ohio. The group combines intelligent original songwriting and arranging, with infectious Latin and funk grooves to create an exciting, captivating, and entertaining experience for listeners.
Clave Sonic brings their high octane groove-based jazz set reminiscent of the sounds of Medeski, Martin and Wood meets Chick Corea, Stevie Wonder and Sting, mixed with the montuno and tumbao rhythms of early Afro-Cuban music. The Latin jazz influence in the band’s music comes from composer and pianist/keyboardist Dean Marcellan, who spent many years in the Boston area performing with some of the top jazz and Latin jazz musicians in the city. That experience paved the way for a variety of original compositions rooted in jazz and R&B, with a “Latin” feel, hence the band’s inclusion of “Clave in the name. Clave is the traditional rhythmic pattern in Afro-Cuban music.

In all, Adam’s four albums and work as a producer has spawned an incredible Nineteen Billboard #1 Hits and the 2025 Billboard Artist of the Year! He also helms his own record label MBF Entertainment and holds a Doctorate of Musical Arts from the University of Southern California. In addition to providing scintillating live performances, Dr. Hawley is also available for masterclasses, clinics, and intensives to all ages and instruments. Coupling this with a robust touring schedule of 70 dates per year worldwide, the best is yet to come.
PJ Morton is a soul singer, songwriter, performer and producer based in New Orleans. A 6x Grammy winner and 22x nominee, he has earned recognition from BET, Soul Train and NAACP Image Awards while selling out historic venues like the Apollo Theater and stages around the world. On top of running his own label, Morton Records, and serving as Maroon 5’s full-time keyboardist for 15 years, he has collaborated with Stevie Wonder, Erykah Badu, Jon Batiste, Nas, Lil Wayne, JoJo, Jill Scott and many others. He is the first Black composer to write an original song for a Disney attraction, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. His debut memoir, Saturday Night, Sunday Morning, reflects on a trailblazing path straddling music and faith, race and culture, expression and identity. He has also ventured into film and television, writing the closing song for Regina King’s Netflix film Shirley and producing music for Dr. Seuss’s Red Fish, Blue Fish on Netflix. From his own Studio in the Country, the historic 26-acre complex in Bogalusa, Louisiana, where Stevie Wonder, Dr. John, The Neville Brothers, The Meters and Willie Nelson have all made classic records, Morton is championing the next generation through “A PJ Morton Production.”
Olivia Van Goor is a Detroit based jazz vocalist with roots in the Columbus jazz scene, spending undergrad at Denison University in Granville, OH and interning at Jazz Arts Group Columbus. Olivia Van Goor is an award-winning jazz vocalist based in Detroit, Michigan. Recently honored as a two-time winner at the 2025 Michigan Music Awards for Best Jazz Album and Best Jazz Single/Performance, she is an emerging talent you won’t want to miss.
Toronto-born, Columbus based saxophonist Pete Mills B3 4tet features Jon Eshleman on the Hammond organ, Tom Davis on guitar and drummer Zach Compston, with each member contributing compositions to the project. Having played together for nearly a decade, the band has developed a cohesive group sound, rich in interplay and musical connection. Their 2025 release, ‘For The Record’ spent 3 weeks on the Jazzweek radio charts and topped out at #5 on the RMR Jazz Album Chart, having been on the top 20 for 8 weeks. Jack Bowers from allaboutazz.com call the project ‘a stellar session with an abundance of bright and pleasurable moments’.
Tommy Lehman is a trumpeter, vocalist, composer-arranger, bandleader, and educator based in Northeast Ohio. The Affinity Project is a contemporary jazz ensemble rooted in original music, blending influences from the jazz and hip-hop traditions.
What comes next after 11 years with The Late Show with Stephen Colbert’s house band? For Jon Lampley, the answer is Notes To Self — his sophomore solo album, out June 26, 2026, and a deeply personal statement from an artist stepping fully into the spotlight. With praise from NPR and The New York Times already behind him, Lampley enters this next chapter with confidence and clarity.
Lampley has made his name as a consummate trumpet and sousaphone player, singer-songwriter, composer, and bandleader, blending jazz, soul, gospel, and contemporary roots music. On The Late Show, he performed nightly under bandleaders Louis Cato and Jon Batiste, honing his craft and stage presence before a global audience.
Produced by Lampley, The Diner (Jordan Cohen, Clyde Lawrence, Jonny Koh), and Michael Thurber, Notes To Self pairs introspective songwriting with the virtuosity, joy, and communal energy that define his career. The album reflects on ambition, optimism, faith, and growth, with standout tracks like “Greener,” “JOY,” and “Maybe.”
Beyond late-night television, Lampley has built a reputation as one of the most versatile brass players of his generation. He co-founded the high-energy jazz-funk ensemble Huntertones and has performed in amphitheaters, arenas, and festivals with jam-rock mainstays O.A.R. and pop-soul powerhouse Lake Street Dive. Long regarded as an elite collaborator and sideman, Lampley has increasingly stepped forward as a frontman, composer, and creative force in his own right.
That instinct to lead is rooted in his upbringing in Akron, Ohio, where church music shaped both his sound and philosophy. Learning trumpet by ear and absorbing the emotional power of communal performance, Lampley developed a style centered on connection, intention, and atmosphere. He continued refining his craft at The Ohio State University before relocating to Brooklyn, New York, where his artistic vision fully crystallized. Influenced by the trumpet lineage of Roy Hargrove and Louis Armstrong and the soulful vocal traditions of Sam Cooke and D’Angelo, Lampley focuses less on flash and more on creating a sound that is immediate, human, and unmistakably his own.

Mike Wade and The Nasty Nati Brass Band Bio The Nasty Nati Brass Band is a New Orleans-styled brass band based in Cincinnati, Ohio. Founded in 2014 by trumpeter/Band leader Mike Wade, the band is made up of a diverse group of musicians who share a love for the rich and vibrant music of New Orleans. The band’s name is a nod to Cincinnati’s nickname, “Nasty Nati,” the 1990 World Champion Cincinnati Reds “Nasty Boys” Baseball Team, and reflects the band’s commitment to celebrating and promoting the city’s unique culture and heritage. The Nasty Nati Brass Band is known for its energetic live performances, which feature a mix of traditional New Orleans jazz, funk, soul and Go-Go. The band’s high-energy sound and infectious rhythms have made them a favorite among audiences in Cincinnati and beyond.
